The most unforgettable experienced that I’ve ever experienced during our group historical visit at the national museum is that the feeling of being proud as a Filipino. As I walked and gazed at the diff, paintings that is exhibited there I cant help myself to gazed with them with a proud smile I was so very proud for I know that those paintings is a Filipino made especially when I see the famous Spolarium painting of a Filipino painter Juan Luna who is now considered as one of the Filipino heroes.. for me it was a dream come true to see the original copy of it.. I just used to see that famous painting in my history book when I was just a grade 5 student way back in my province at Negros. Occidental. Its not just the spolarium that makes me proud but of course those diff. sculptures that is Filipino made also. So I can’t help mysef to behave as if im just a 5 years old child who is now starting to explore the riches of a childhood. Yes it sound crazy but that is really what I felt during that tour I was so excited to explore the museum to see other riches that may place in there.. I take a picture on diff. paintings in fact I was twice repuke by a guard destined in there for I tried to touch the paintings….
Our next stop is in the famous fort Santiago that is located at the walled city or Intramuros.. I was a bit familiar with the place because I have read many article about that historical place and I was so very excited to get there .. and I was not disappoint because at the very moment that I laid my feet on that historical place I was already fell in love with it.. the fort Santiago was the placed wherein the braved Filipino heroes Dr. Jose Rizal was imprisoned during the Spanish colonial era. It was the placed that symbolizes the bravery and great love of a Filipino people for their mother land during that days. The placed not just only offer the feeling of happiness but it also offer the feeling of sadness because that place also remembered me of cruelty of Spanish conquistador. We also go down into the place wherein Jose Rizal was imprisoned. It was so scary down there and the darkness captivated the place.
And here we are at the famous Rizal shrine or the “Dambana ni Rizal” the place wherein we see the diff. memorabilia of Rizal.. and thank God because touching those things that is placed in there is not restricted except of course to those things that is placed in crystals to preserved it and as we tour that placed I felt so very proud of having a countrymen like Rizal esp. when I see that there is a lot of foreigners visiting that place.. “Dambana ni Rizal” really show me the honoring life of Rizal and at the end of the day I was so proud to ba a Filipino and that historical visit has a great impact on me. As a student it taught me to be a good student to study hard so that someday I may have something to contribute for the growth and development of my country. As e person it taught me to be that I should love my country and also those things that ive seen during that visit tell me more about my self.. my origin and my ancestors. And as a Filipino it tells me to value the liberty that I am enjoying right now for it was the freedom that my fellow countrymen fought and died for..
